<<First Name>>,
The COVID-19 pandemic has hit us all hard. We hope you and your loved ones remain safe and healthy through this crisis.
At Reconnect, we are closely watching the impact this pandemic is having on transit and mobility options, and what that might mean for the future of public transportation. We put our thoughts together in a blog post that summarizes fast-moving developments on the national and local level.

A few weeks into this new reality, we've also had some time to understand the impact of COVID-19 on our organization.
First, we have postponed or cancelled the events and activities we had planned through May 30.
The "Think Transit First" edition of Rochester Street Films is re-scheduled from Wed March 18 to Wed Oct 28.
All Bike Week and related festivities planned for the
month of May have been cancelled.

Like many of you, we're finding it harder to stay focused.
But there is much work to be done. Here are the things we can do to keep things moving...
Forge ahead on our fiberglass bus stop cube project, with the goal of getting 15 cubes on the ground in Rochester neighborhoods by late spring.
Lay the groundwork to kick off our next Complete Streets Makeover project this summer.
Move Work Group meetings online and continue our advocacy efforts to the greatest degree possible under the circumstances. Join us!
Work virtually with the Drive2Bbetter team of partners on the next phase of the campaign.
Seek funding to keep our organization financially healthy and sustainable.
Take advantage of the down time to undertake improvement projects, like updating and restructuring our website.
Keep sparking community engagement and conversation about transportation & mobility in ROC, online via our blog and on social media.

In closing...
We don't know exactly what the future holds, but we know for sure that a strong multi-modal transportation system will help aid in our community's recovery. So let's keep up the hard work to make it a reality.
From all of us at Reconnect Rochester...
Be safe and be well.
p.s. Getting outside to walk (with proper social distancing) and solo bike riding are great options for these times, so walk and ride on!
