The world and its generations basically ignore Christ. Humanity simply moves onward each day, living life unto themselves, giving very little thought to Jesus. However, this will not always be so. The day of reckoning is closing in on every person. Today, and through all of the yesterdays, mankind has given Christ, “no-mind.” Jesus has been dissed and disrespected. Yet, there is a specific day coming that will end all other days to come. This is the day when Christ shall no longer be ignored. Every single person, past, present, and future, will give an account and answer to Him personally.
In that day, Christ will be fully acknowledged as the Lord. Every knee will bow to Christ Jesus. This will not be an obligatory bow, given because it is His due. Nor will this bent-knee happen because the person opted to do so out of any respect or in hopes of gaining any favor. No! There will be no angel forcing anyone to bend a knee before Christ, kicking out the back of the leg to force submission. No! Rather, every person will immediately bow, not being able to stand under the weight of His glory. His powerful presence will cause every person to fall before Him in full surrender and with great fright. Just like the demons cried out in His presence when He walked this earth in bodily form fearing their end, so will every soul who ignored Christ fall before the great and might God and fully acknowledge Him. The heart will be under extreme conviction, recognizing the Christ in His glory. Those who ignored Him will do so no longer.
In addition, every tongue will confess that Christ is Lord. This declaration will not be stated as an obligation to Christ, or as a way to be accepted in His presence. Every tongue will confess that He is Lord because the presence of Truth will demand it. No lie can stand, nor can any lie be stated any more. That tongue that gave honor to everything and everyone while ignoring Christ will now tell the truth—Christ is Lord. That tongue that used "God-given breath" for his own glory will give Him honor and will not be able to utter anything less than the truth—Christ is Lord.
Have you ever been ignored by someone. Being ignored is an act of rejection; it communicates disrespect and says, “You are not welcome in my presence.” No one likes being ignored. Many have been hurt from its effects. Depression often settles in the soul when someone wanted to belong, yet received rejection in its stead. Being ignored simply says, “I don’t care about you.” Anger usually results, and vengeance can easily set in.
Understanding this situation, think on the humility of Christ, who has been ignored by so many over numerous generations. The Lord provides for humanity each day, even giving the fool his wages and the transgressor a job, yet He is ignored. With great audacity, men go further than this disrespectful thanklessness and they give the credit for their provision and protection to another being, or even unto themselves. In all this, Christ remains silent as each day millions ignore Him. This is true humility! Tested and proven to be so!
However, the Day of the Lord is approaching and Christ draws nearer with each passing moment, the day when He shall no longer be ignored. In our current season, Christ and His people are ignored, but the day comes when He and His people shall be revealed and made known. Those who belong to Christ, who are hidden in Christ, will one day be revealed when He is revealed. But our current day, Christ subjects Himself and those who are in Christ, to the humiliation of disrespect and rejection.
Allow this time to process its transgressions, and know that rejection is part of the life in Christ. Consider carefully though and be sure the rejection you suffer is for your life in Christ. Know this, that no one enjoys being ignored, but it will not always be the case. You must know that heaven is populated with souls that care for all those who love the Lord. There is a cloud of witnesses awaiting your arrival. As the Bible records, “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:1– 2).
Be Blessed This Day!
