La Garenne International School
Dear Parents, Alumni, Partners,
It is the last term of the school year 2014-15, the children love and enjoy the summer atmosphere and long lasting daylight to play outside, although it is also time for important exams such as the reputable DELF and Cambridge - academic year exams and end of year celebrations. Finally, preparations are underway for our end of year celebrations and our summer camp, retaining the successful programme of many years: a well-balanced experience between learning languages, enjoying sports and cultural discoveries as well as the launching this year of many innovative activities.
We hope that you enjoyed the improvements we made this year: the smartphone application, the prefect positions for our exceptional students, the yoga classes, health package, big writing project and Delf and Cambridge Exam opportunities. These do not stop us from introducing many new improvements next year.
Enjoy the reading!

French at La Garenne

As from the next academic year, our French section will comprise of classes from CE1 to 5ème, students aged 7 to 13 years old. Our goal is to focus on the French language as part of our ambitious second language development programme. It will be reinforced in the daily school life, the art, music and sports will be taught in French when following the British curriculum (vice-versa for the French section).
Renovated Bedrooms

Renovated Bedrooms & "Studio 47”

Since January, all the bedrooms in La Garenne's main building were renovated and completely refurbished. The work will be finished for the beginning of the summer camp.
On another note, "Studio 47” – name chosen by our students - has been designed on the first floor of La Garenne's building to welcome students who, whilst being sick or weak, may enjoy a more relaxing area. A cozy sofa, a well equipped library and desk make this room more than welcoming.

La Garenne Development Fund

“Beau-Site”, the new building is well under way and should be completed by September 2016. This project, completely financed by the school's own funds will be fully furbished with the latest technology and state of the art equipment. Since 2011, families and friends have generously contributed to La Garenne's development. They help the school and its campus to continue to improve the facilities, follow the highest educational standards and support the different challenges, which are faced throughout the school years.
If you wish to receive further information about the La Garenne Development Fund, or if you wish to contribute to the building of "Beau-Site", we invite you to contact us at

Charity – ELA Association

It has become a school tradition to organise a charity run that unites parents and students in the noble goal of collecting money for children in need, by spending a day together at the beautiful Lake Geneva.

Since 2009, La Garenne has supported - ELA Association – a charity that helps families and medical research for children suffering from Leukodystrophy (a rare genetic disease which affects the central nervous system and reduces mobility little by little).  Some of our students spoke to their families and friends during the vacation about the effects the illness has on children and how we are trying to help by collecting money and doing the charity run called  “Mets tes baskets et bats la maladie”. It is a 10km run where everyone tries their best to support ELA and Sparadrap (the playroom for children in the local hospital).
The last race was organised on 13th of May and we spent a great day all together at the lake!
