As this busy, successful term draws to a close, we would like to share some important information and news with you. We know that this is a physically challenging term for the children and they have excelled themselves despite the unpredictable weather. The Board has been occupied with preparations for the next school year, reviewing the organisation to ensure we offer a stimulating life style utilizing Beau Site. You will find more information in the articles below.
If you have not yet completed the school survey, we encourage to you to do so. Over the course of the next five years we will continue to request your valuable input in this way.
We wish you a pleasant holiday wherever you are. The entire team looks forward to welcoming back the children for a term during which the Juniors will enjoy their exciting school trips.

As mentioned above, we will implement the following initiatives for September:
Junior students will reside in a beautiful new chalet with picturesque views and modern facilities.
Some “families” will be created among our boarding houses in order to reinforce the school values
The weekends will be divided into Saturday ‘group’ activities and Sunday ‘individual choice’ activities - as well as free time for some of the periods
More after-school study groups to specifically reinforce class lessons will be set up for older students
Junior students will be able to take part in inter-school sports / academic competitions
The Cubs will follow a slightly adapted timetable which will allow them to participate in after school clubs finishing at 5 p.m.
Within the Junior section, further levels of mathematics will be developed and there will be more science within the curriculum.
A blog will be up and running from September which will provide monthly information about what the children are learning about in class.
The school reports will be updated and information will be provided to parents about the grades.
Our `Book Week` last year was a great success and we are looking forward to celebrating our love of books again this year. We have arranged a story teller, a book fair and a week packed full of activities to promote reading and writing.
To celebrate international mindedness we will be hosting an International Week alongside the normal curriculum. More information will follow regarding this.
You will be able to access detailed information about each year group’s curriculum through the school website.
Congratulations to the construction team who are two months ahead of schedule!
They will hand over the keys by the end of June.
To add to the excitement, a surprise will be revealed to all during the End of Year Ceremony.
We look forward to seeing the reactions of the children in September.

All the children are looking forward to participating in the annual Ski Race Day. It is the first year that it will be a whole day event. The children will have lunch on the ski slope followed by the race. We would like to invite all our parents to participate or to support your child/ren.
A torch lit ski procession provided a night-time adventure for the children in snowy February. En route they played team games, had avalanche training and enjoyed a delicious dinner in a mountain refuge.
On the 17th of March, all our little musicians will perform at the Grande Salle de Villars. It will be followed by a drink for the parents. In the afternoon, you are invited to visit Academia to view the excellent work of your child/ren (IPC Exhibition).
Our winter expeditions take us to Trient for the Minis for two fun days (sledging and winter games). Depending on their level of skiing/snowboarding, the Juniors will be going to Chamonix, Porte du Soleil and les Diablerets.
Activity continues in the library, with some student volunteers now trained to process new books and use the computerized management system. Students love visiting and chatting about books.
Stop Press: our fundraising total has reached CHF 4'300. Years 3,4,6,7 & 8 impressed us with their beautiful carol singing and Petit Chalet loved having them perform for their patrons, tourists and the people of Villars - raising over 600 CHF. Students across the school applied their creative skills to decorating and writing postcards for ACLEM.
Christmas gifts were purchased and delivered to the children's hospital charity, SPARADRAP, by a small group of students and, Years 1/2 created and delivered artistic Christmas cards. To conclude Term 1, students and staff donated money to attend school in their PJs. Read more →
