Welcome to our October E-Newsletter!

Since our last newsletter we have submitted two major grant applications one for our feasibility study which will enable express to take a significant step closer to establishing the hub and one to help cover core running costs. We are all volunteers at express and running costs, putting on events, providing coffee mornings and booking talks, all adds up as we are sure you can appreciate.

This is a lengthy but we hope an informative and useful newsletter. Your comments are always welcome - please click here to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you.

Please continue to support us it really does make a difference. You can do your bit by spreading the word, attending events, offering your expertise, and fundraising. Please do get involved.

For further information on our upcoming events you can visit www.expresscic.org.uk

Thank you.

So, please
donate here to express and help us continue to provide parent to parent support groups, informative and inspiring talks, sibling groups, art therapy groups and pursue our ultimate goal of an autism friendly purpose built hub in the heart of the community.

express Coffee Morning - 3rd Dec 2014

We are delighted that Dean Beadle will be our guest speaker. Dean is an adult with Aspergers Syndrome. He is an experienced journalist, and tours extensively speaking about his experiences with Aspergers.

Dean's story highlights a humorous and moving personal experience of life in education with Aspergers, and proves just how big a difference parents and professionals can make to children on the spectrum.

This is a great way to meet other parents/carers, the team at Express and share experiences in a relaxed environment. Our coffee morning spaces always go fast and when we have guest speakers even faster! For further details and to reserve your space please click here

Dealing with Bullying

Sadly bullying is all too common, particularly if your child is seen as 'different'. It can be devastating to deal with as a family and even more difficult if your child is unable to express themselves. A recent survey concluded that over 60% of children with autism are bullied.

We hope that you do not have to use it but if this is something you are facing - Contact A Family have produced an excellent resource: Dealing with Bullying for parents of a disabled child
