Welcome to our March Newsletter!
express News in Brief

For a short month February was very busy and we have been feeling the love. We were extremely grateful to be awarded £2000 from Love Kingston

We have been meeting lots of new parents, many who have only just found out about Express. If you work in a school or other setting, please do pass on our details and spread the word. Parents really do benefit from the support of other parents who 'get it'. We offer telephone and email support as well as group and one to one support.

We are really excited to be offering a NEW Yoga Group for children on the autism spectrum, after Easter. Please contact us at for a referral form and more details.

Earlier this month we were delighted to learn we had won Best Autism Awareness Community Organisation - South West London. Quite specific :) Thank you to whoever put us forward.

Our thanks also to all those who attended our exclusive screening of Life Animated at The cornerHOUSE. It was a lovely evening and a very thought provoking film full of positives. We will be arranging another screening soon.

We are really looking forward to our event for World Autism Awareness on 27th March at The Rose Theatre  - see details below. If you haven't booked yet, please book soon as some of the talks are nearly full.

With the Holiday Booking Season fast approaching, please could we ask as many people as possible to sign up to easyfundraising. It doesn't cost you anything and you can raise money for express when you shop online. You can also donate to express on our local giving page.

Express is run by parent/carer volunteers. We have an excellent dedicated small team of volunteers but we really do need more support. We do not receive funding. We rely on fundraising and donations to help cover our increasing costs. Please do consider fundraising for us, however big or small it all helps!
Some ideas ... Coffee mornings, cake sales, quiz night in your local, good as new sale or pamper evening. Please also nominate us in your local supermarket schemes or look out for community funds we can apply for. We really need your help!

We are still working on providing even more evidence that there is a need for services! We really do need all parent/carers to take a few minutes to complete our survey
Your comments are always welcome - please click here to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you.

For further information on our upcoming events you can visit & for other events locally

When ‘Mum’ Seems Anxious

‘I suspect the problem is her Mum who is really overanxious’. ‘I only spoke to Mum once but she seemed very over stressed’.

Children living in mental health hospitals should get help to get home. Always.

Children and young people with mental health problems or autism should never have to live in inappropriate mental health hospitals.

Good inpatient care acts as a lifeline to many young people, who get the expert support they need to get better and return home.

But for others, including some with autism or a learning disability, their mental health can get worse in that care and they and their families can struggle to get help that is right for them.

We are calling on the Government to set out strong, enforceable rights to protect children in mental health hospitals, and their families, when they need it most.

Please sign the petition to make sure the voices of young people and their families are heard. Always.

Anyone from the United Kingdom can sign this petition. We are asking for your address to verify that you live in the UK. Unfortunately people living in other countries cannot sign.
