September 2017

From the President - September 2017

Welcome September! It is my absolute favorite time of the year with warm summer air turning cool and the color of the leaves changing into beautiful hues of red and gold.  It was an amazing August with a sold-out Scholarship Bowl raising more funds than ever before for our high school seniors!  We also had a sold-out Membership Luncheon at the beautiful and serene Pallottine Renewal Center.  Great things are ahead as we venture on into Fall.

Be sure to order more business cards as our next Membership Luncheon will be a Speed Networking event on September 20th at the Christian Hospital Atrium.  Get your 1-minute elevator speech ready to wow the socks off the chamber person next to you! Don’t have one ready? Call the chamber office and we’ll give you some tips!  And while you’re at it, bring unopened wine to the luncheon as we are collecting wine for our Nite of Stars 2017’s wine pull.  This year’s theme is the Roaring 20s! We’ve got an excited committee planning a memorable night for all, you won’t want to miss it!

Kent Miller Photography is partnering with the Greater North County Chamber to take your head shot for $20! On Thursday, October 19th from 1p.m. to 5p.m. Kent will be at the chamber office ready to take your best pose! Please call the chamber office to pick your time-slot!

Don’t forget! Our Membership Directories are now available! Pick some up for your business and share with your staff and customers!

Chair's Message - September 2017

Well the summer of 2017 is coming to an end and kids have headed back to school. I hope that everyone was able to take some time off from work and did something fun for vacation and spend some time with family.

I would like to thank everyone that came and joined us for the Greater North County Chamber Scholarship Bowl. It was a huge sold out success raising over $6000.00 that will go directly to the scholarships that will be awarded next spring. I would like to congratulate this year’s Scholarship Bowl champion team, The Daniel and Henry Company and also the 50/50 winner, Matt Husband, who not only won some cash but also won great prizes donated by Dalmatian Carpet Cleaning, Gary’s Auto Service, Kwik Kopy, Amore Pizza and Pirrone’s Pizzeria.

Lastly if you missed the August luncheon, the various Chamber committee chairs were there to share with the membership a little bit about their committee and what they do. They had several people offer to help with those committees. I would like to thank those who volunteered their valuable time to help with the success of our chamber. If you weren’t able to attend and would like to sign up for one of the committees contact one of your chamber board members or the Chamber office at 831-3500.

Sincerely,
Mike Moehlenkamp
