Welcome to the 2019-2020 RU-N academic year!  There are a host of events going on to help launch the new year and welcome new members to the RU-N community.
Bank of America has committed $1 million over a four-year period, commencing fall 2019, to support transfer students in the Honors Living-Learning Community at Rutgers-Newark. The gift will also provide resources allowing these students to become the next generation of community leaders and influencers.

The Humanities Action Lab receives a $30,000 David Rockefeller Fund awards grant for the Rikers Public Memory Project that grew out of HAL's States of Incarceration Project.
Conklin Hall "Liberator" Vickie Donaldson returns to RU-N to teach a new generation of activists in the same building where she and her classmates made history 50 years ago.

Rutgers-Newark and Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. announced that work on a state-of-the-art baseball stadium has begun at Weequahic Park. The field will be home to the Scarlet Raiders as well as local high school teams.

The New Jersey Division on Civil Rights is partnering with the New Jersey Coalition Against Sexual Assault to host three public hearings to hear from the public and experts about sexual harassment in employment, housing, and places of public accommodation in New Jersey.

The Language of Capital Series is a free city-wide, multi-week series focusing on teaching Newark business owners how to build a profitable business. Register here.
Don't miss a free public screening of Zahra and the Oil Man at Cityplex on Sept. 12. The screening will include a Q&A session with the film’s cast and crew, moderated by Sharon Stroye, director of public engagement at SPAA and co-leader of the TRHT at Rutgers-Newark.
