RPPR Reminders and Best Practices

Federal sponsors require research performance progress report (RPPRs) for interim performance reporting on research.

When your RPPR is due, you will want to:

  1. Go to NIH's eRA Commons website and complete your RPPR.
  2. Run a Check for Errors. (This is important.) ORSP cannot process unless you have corrected the errors. We'll have tips on resolving common errors in future communications.
  3. Once you have corrected the errors, route the RPPR to ORSP. Select your designated ORSP Government Team Project Representative. (This is important, and it's a temporary change in our process.) We used to ask you to route to one of our Administrative Specialists (Reynaldo Martell or Kendra Walter). Due to staffing changes we have the chance to explore new processes, so, for now, please choose your PR.
  4. Login to the eResearch Proposal Management (eRPM) system and run the Project Team Request RPPR Review activity. With that, upload a completed Key Personnel Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI) form and multiple PI (MPI) form if required.

Your best resource: Remember that for any questions on RPPRs NIH offers a comprehensive RPPR instruction guide.
