Change in one of the validations on the SF424 R&R detailed budget form

If you are preparing budgets for the upcoming NIH deadlines, you may encounter a new validation error on the SF 424 R&R* detailed budget form in eResearch. You now must enter data into the Base Salary field of Section A. Senior/Key Person (see picture below). The base salary can no longer be left blank, even if an agency (NIH, for example) does not require. The good news is that there is a workaround!

Workaround: If you do not want to enter in an actual salary for the key personnel, a value of 0.00 can be entered in the Base Salary field, satisfying the system requirement.
