Daryl Weinert - Associate Vice President for Research - Business Operations

I am pleased to announce a change in Daryl Weinert’s appointment from Associate Vice President for Research – Sponsored Projects in the U-M Office of Research (UMOR) to Associate Vice President for Research – Business Operations. The change is effective November 1, 2015.
This new title reflects expanded responsibilities for the position. In addition to continuing his oversight of the Office of Research and Sponsored Projects, Daryl will oversee other administrative and business functions for UMOR, including budget and finance, human resources, and communications.
Daryl earned a combined B.A. degree in economics and B.S. degree in industrial and operations engineering from the University of Michigan in 1986. During his career in industry and academia, he has had extensive experience in accounting, corporate finance, financial analysis, and marketing as well as in implementing cost reductions and process improvements. In 1999, he joined the College of Engineering as director of Corporate Relations, and he became Executive Director of the Business Engagement Center at its founding in 2007. He has held his current AVP position since 2012.
In his new position, Daryl’s expertise and experience will be a great asset as we work to strengthen the efficiency and effectiveness of UMOR’s diverse business and administrative processes.
