Pivot vs. persevere
In the world of startups, entrepreneurs must periodically ask themselves: Are we making enough progress to believe that our original strategic direction is correct, or do we need to make a major change? Should we persevere, or pivot?
In the past weeks, I've made lots of decisions to pivot. One, to pursue a friendship rather than a romantic relationship with someone. Another, to stop pushing my nonfiction book Fit, Fudge, Fine further down the path of traditional publishing at this time. Tough decisions, but look what's at stake: "There is no bigger destroyer of creative potential than the misguided decision to persevere."
When I'm pivoting....I'm dancing, aren't I?
