Meet the Apprentice Level Master Beekeepers
at the Bee Symposium in May!
The California Master Beekeeper Program (CAMBP) was established in 2016 by the El. Niño Bee Lab and the Honey & Pollination Center to educate beekeepers and improve bee health. The Program enables beekeepers to become effective and knowledgeable honey bee ambasadors.
The very first Apprentice Level class -- of 55 beekeepers, gardeners, and bee enthusiasts -- graduated in 2016.

Remember Jake Riesdorf? His talk, “Getting into Beekeeping: Thoughts from a 12-Year-Old” was a highlight of the first-ever Bee Symposium in 2015. Riesdorf even surprised Amina Harris, Director of the Honey & Pollination Center, by donating $500 to the Center at the end of the Symposium.
Jake Reisdorf is the owner and operator of the Carmel Honey Company and became facinated with honey bees at the age of 10. His company began as a student "real world" homework assignment. Reisdorf hopes to inspire future generations and make a positive impact on the fate of the honeybee and the ecosystems we all inhabit.
