BRINGING HEALTHY HOMES TO TARANAKI
WELCOME TO GREENBRIDGE'S AUTUMN NEWSLETTER, WHERE WE WILL SHARE NEWS OF: ADDITIONS TO OUR TEAM, NEW PARTNER BUSINESSES AND WHAT THESE CHANGES ALLOW US TO  OFFER OUR CLIENTS!
By partnering with Forever Breathe™& developing an architectural arm to our consultancy, GreenBridge is extremely excited to now be able to offer clients with a high performance, non toxic building solution that is the same cost as a standard build!

The result of the collaboration between ten suppliers of Health Based Building products, this fully appraised 'complete solution', uses standard construction to achievea 3.5R insulation rating that is fully breathable, vapour permeable, lowers indoor humidity and improves air quality (without the need for expensive mechanical air ventilation).  It is also high wind zone rated, is fire, mould, insect, water and impact resistant and has superior weather tightness and durability.  There are a wide range of finishing options, the system actually sequesters carbon over its lifetime and to top it all off, every aspect of the system can be composted at end of life!!!

To find out more contact Daniel at GreenBridge and ask about the Health Based Building solution..

RECENT PROJECT PROFILE
BASIC ECO-GARDEN DESIGN SERVICE

An example of our the basic "no frills" service that we launched late last year, this project is focussed on a 1200sqm suburban site in Moturoa.

The client's brief was: "to grow our own food and be as low maintenance and self sustaining as possible".  This Basic Eco-Design service is client interactive and intensive two-day process, in which your GreenBridge consultant spends most of the first day onsite completing a site assessment and working through design ideas with the client.  The second day in the office drawing up the design (which in this instance consisted of over 36 fruiting varieties, along with support species and both perennial and annual vegetable beds), before coming back to present the design to the client.

A basic design service in any of GreenBridge's main three areas of Eco-Land/Garden or Home has a fixed design cost of $2165 +GST.  If you are interested in having us work through a Basic design for your project, then drop us a line to find out more...

NEW GREENBRIDGE OFFICES

The GreenBridge team is setting up office in one of the first two completed homes in the Mana Way, community enhanced living subdivision.  We have been working together with Pepper Construction on this innovative pocket neighbourhood project.  Office Address: 23 Whakawhiti St, Whalers Gate.
The first two homes are about to go on sale and GreenBridge will be working from site to both help progress completion of the remaining four sites and shared community space, as well as provide an onsite presence to answer questions and enquires.

FRUIT TREE PLANTING TIPS

The best time to plant is in 'the fall' - when the leaves of deciduous trees begin to flutter to the ground.  During this time sap is running down to the roots and 85% of a trees growth happens over two months.

Identifying habitat and matching the correct tree and rootstock, is the most essential aspect of ensuring your fruit tree thrives!  Put your tree in the wrong place and you will always be fighting pests and disease.

• Heavy, free draining, moist soil, with some frost =       deciduous temperate (pears, apples, plums, quince).
• North facing, good solar access, moist soil =               citrus (think: lemon, lime, mandarin, grapefruit...).
• Dry, bony, hot and exposed soils = mediterranean       (olives, figs, peaches, almonds, grapes, apricots...).
• Sheltered, humid and moist solis = subtropical             (think: tamarillo, macadamia, avocado, banana...).

Ensure you match the right rootstock fro habitat. Some trees require pollinators (talk to your nursery or attend our Design Your Own Eco-Property workshop.
