In Edmonton and Calgary, on September 19th, 2016, the Association of Alberta Sexual Assault Services (AASAS) will join with our trusted partners: The Government of Alberta; Our generous Media Sponsors; Post-Secondary Institutions of Alberta; “Operation Honour” of the Canadian Armed Forces; and the Sexual Assault Services of Alberta to launch this year’s “I Believe You” campaign.
We are in the midst of a transformational culture shift! After centuries of minimizing and justifying sexual assault, public sentiment is shifting dramatically. We are seeing a critical mass of people standing by survivors in an unprecedented way.
A culture of believing is sweeping our communities and we want you to help us celebrate!
Here are two ways you can show that you stand with survivors of sexual assault:
Please join us!
By taking part in the filming of a public service announcement which will be aired on television and on-line. We need 325 noisy people to show their support for survivors and fill the Kenilworth arena on a Friday lunch hour in Edmonton, on September 23rd. We’ll even provide the hotdogs!

Make some noise loud enough that survivors can hear!
Film your groups own video or take a picture sharing a collective #ibelieveyou message to survivors. All you have to do is find some like-minded, noisy and boisterous people and use your phone to film a short video or take a photo.
We are going to flood the internet with support for survivors of sexual violence! Together we can do it!
Thanks in advance for your support,
Deb Tomlinson
