We want to extend a warm welcome to the 26 NEW families (28 students) enrolled at CHMS this year.
- 6th grade: 13 students
- 7th grade: 10 students
- 8th grade: 5 students
Our PTO – led by Kate Schlie and Lisa Romberger, school social workers and a few current students offered new students a special orientation before school began to help them get acquainted with CHMS. New parents were also invited to meet with a few CHMS parents to learn more about the school, answer questions and tour the school.
We wish all of our new students and families a fantastic school year!
Our wonderful CHMS teachers and staff enjoyed a Welcome Back Luncheon this past Friday, Aug. 31. The picnic-themed luncheon was hosted by our CHMS PTO Teacher & Staff Appreciation Committee. Special thanks to our committee co-chairs, Laura Morris and Marcie Purcell, for planning a fun lunch featuring delicious sandwiches from the Village Gourmet in Clarendon Hills. And thanks to all the committee members who also generously donated an assortment of sides, salads, desserts and drinks to complete the menu.

Middle schoolers experience great social, emotional and physical change. Join us for our first PTO meeting of the year on Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 1:00 p.m. (new time!) in the MRC as our principal, Dr. Levi Brown, provides an overview of changes that take place during the middle school years and how the CHMS staff works to meet each child’s unique needs.
As a reminder, we will use the My School Anywhere system for our CHMS online school directory again this year. You will receive an email in the near future to review and confirm your family’s personal contact information. Please be on the lookout for that email and reply ASAP to ensure the accuracy of your data.
