Tell all your friends...

JUST 35 DAYS TO GO... the countdown has begun! Warrior Beach Week is right around the corner and preparations for this year's event are in high gear. In addition to much of the same line-up of activities from last year, we're excited to announce several new events for 2014.

Thursday 9/4: Family Night in Bethany
This will be a great time for the community to get out and greet and thank our VIFs for their service. The activities in town will include exclusive and free miniature golf play as well as a Magic Show at the Bethany Bandstand at 7 PM performed by the great magicians of the Dickens Parlour Theater. The VIF women will be returning from their Spa treatments and everyone will enjoy the great show. We would also encourage everyone to patronize our Businesses on Board, displaying the Operation SEAs the Day supporter signs.

Friday 9/5: Freeman Stage Concert
Don’t forget to get your tickets to the Friday night concert on September 5th featuring the fabulous Springsteen Tribute Band —BRUCE in the USA! They performed last year over July 4th weekend and everyone who saw them thought they were a highlight of the season. There will be a special tribute to our VIFs who will be the honored guests for the performance. Tickets are selling fast so be sure and get yours as soon as possible. We’d love to have this performance be sold out. Buy now>>

Saturday 9/6: Cripple Creek Classic Car Show
Cripple Creek Golf and Country Club will be holding their first ever, Cripple Creek Classic Car Show with proceeds going to Operation SEAs the Day. In addition to cars, there will be lots of food, music and raffles... all culminating in an Awards Ceremony which will include Veteran’s Pick for Best In Show.  To learn more and register to be a part of this show, download the Registration Form/Flyer. Volunteer Alert: Rock & Roll!

A few weeks ago, a wonderful group helped us get our new inventory of merchandise ready to sell. (We roll the T-shirts and tie them with twine with a great muslin, hand-stamped OSTD Tag, hence why we've dubbed it  “Rock and Roll”).  We had a great assembly line going, getting it done a half hour before expected -- many hands make light work!

We're not sure when the last batch of merchandise of the season will arrive but we're hoping for the first week in August. This group will meet at The Church of Christ in Ocean View on a to-be-determined weekday, from 3-4:30 PM. If you're interested in helping out, check out our Volunteer Interest page or send an email to Marcia at

Odds & Ends...

In addition to Sponsors and Supporters, OSTD would like to recognize those businesses participating in this years event. Please take time to recognize-patronize and thank these businesses for their unwavering support of this project. Check out the list!

News Flash....

Operation SEAs the Day has been formally recognized as a Public Charity under Section 501(c)(3) of Internal Revenue Code.  All donations are tax-deductible!

August 2nd, 2014, 6-8 PM

Stop by Bethany to decorate your own welcome sign for our warrior VIFs (Very Important Families).  Our poster station will be set-up near the playground (corner of Pennsylvania & Garfield) and we'll also have our merchandise on sale in front of Bethany Beach Books.

OSTD Navy Gets Ready to Sail

The OSTD Navy led by Commodore Brian Emory, assisted by Capt. Chris Ross, are busy recruiting our Navy Captains and planning sea journeys of varying types to meet the desires of our VIFs. The Navy will be setting sail from 2 different ports most days by reservation.

Stay tuned, details to follow...

Dutton Busing

OSTD would like to send a huge special thanks to a Dutton Busing for offering to provide transportation to and from the Freeman Stage Concert on 9/5.  We're so grateful for the support of this local company that's also veteran-owned!

Media Relations Get Rolling

Annette Reeping is our new MEDIA guru and she's off to a flying start. The Coastal Point did a great article, as did Delmarva Now. They both featured interviews with alumni from last year's event. Delaware Beach Week magazine is doing a feature article for its September issue which will hit news stands in late August. Check out all of our coverage this year and last by viewing our media page.

And now...

A word from [one] sponsor

We received this note below from one of our Platinum Sponsors. Thank you Mediacom, we're so grateful to have your support:

For over 15 years, Mediacom has had the privilege of serving as the local cable provider in Bethany Beach. It is a beautiful community, but it is the people that truly make it such a special place to live and work. So we were not surprised to learn that the residents of Bethany Beach were coming together to support our nation’s wounded veterans through Operation SEAs the Day. Mediacom is proud to become a Platinum Sponsor and to help Bethany Beach honor America’s war heroes.
