The Relationship Between Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD (Psychology Today) - “As it turns out, on the basis of simple symptom categorization, there is a fair amount of overlap between these two behavioral conditions. Here are some statistics: There is a 5-10% incidence of ADHD overall in children, and a 2-5% incidence of ASD. Based on DSM-5 criteria, around 50% of children diagnosable with ASD could also be diagnosed with ADHD, and around 15% of children diagnosable with ADHD could be also be diagnosed with ASD.” Read more

Retourner au travail plus tôt grâce à un nouveau programme de réadaptation (ICI Québec) - « Dans notre clientèle régulière, poursuit-elle, on voit des gens qui sont un ou deux ans en arrêt de travail et ne croient pas que les choses puissent s'améliorer dans un proche horizon. Alors que lorsqu'ils commencent le programme avec nous, souvent c'est entre 12 et 14 semaines plus tard qu'on a réussi à les réintégrer au travail. » Read more

The impact of co-existing health conditions on life and work (CAREERWISE by CERIC) - “Because of their invisible nature, comorbidities are often difficult to track, but some sources like epilepsy.com have shown that about 20% of people with a primary diagnosis of epilepsy also have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). A similar figure applies to information processing disorders such as dyslexia. Approximately 20-50% of people with epilepsy are reported to also experience depression or anxiety. Almost 800,000 Canadians report having a mental health issue like depression or anxiety on top of one or more physical disabilities.” Read more
