November 9: Southern California Energy Innovation Network Annual Showcase
On November 9, Cleantech San Diego's Southern California Energy Innovation Network (SCEIN) will host its annual showcase featuring short presentations from SCEIN startups currently seeking Seed through Series A financing rounds. The presenting companies have cleantech solutions spanning smart grid services, energy services, energy efficiency, renewable energy generation, energy storage, and clean transportation. The SCEIN Showcase is designed to raise the visibility of these highly successful companies with investors, strategic partners, potential customers, and the broader cleantech community. San Diego Community Power RFP for Long-Term CA RPS-Eligible Renewable Energy
San Diego Community Power (SDCP) released an RFP for Long-Term California RPS-Eligible Renewable Energy. Through this RFP, SDCP is requesting proposals for long-term, Portfolio Content Category 1 renewable energy products with initial deliveries commencing prior to December 31, 2026. SDCP’s RFP materials are posted online and respondents are encouraged to regularly check the website for updates to the bid requirements and/or offer form. Paired Power's New Solar Canopy Enables Quick EV-Charging-Station Installation
Cleantech San Diego member and Southern California Energy Innovation Network company Paired Power, a provider of solar-powered electric vehicle charging products, has launched its transportable solar canopy, PairTree, with built-in EV charging capabilities. The new offering gives customers quick access to the renewable energy of the sun without the costly construction and infrastructure requirements of traditional solar canopy installations. ENGIE and SDG&E Help Open Transportation Center for All-Electric School District Fleet
Grossmont Union High School District (GUHSD) unveiled its new $24 million Transportation Services Center – a state-of-the-art facility that integrates the infrastructure necessary to support the district’s transition to an all-electric bus fleet. GUHSD collaborated with ENGIE North America to complete an in-depth analysis of fleet and transportation requirements and developed a 28-year Power Purchase Agreement that includes solar, electric vehicle charging stations, and smart control software. Nuvve and V2G Featured as California Governor Signs Climate Action Legislation
During Governor Gavin Newsom's September 16 press conference where he signed climate protection legislation for the State of California, Cleantech San Diego member Nuvve's vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology was showcased for media and elected officials. Navy and Port Partner to Generate Millions for Electrification Projects around San Diego Bay

Congress Reauthorizes Small Business Innovation Research Program
The Small Business Administration’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) awards were both recently extended by congress. The programs, known as "America's Seed Fund," are meant to incentivize small businesses to engage in early-stage research and development for technologies and products that companies might otherwise shy away from given uncertain returns on investments. October 19: Smartville Second-Life Battery Energy Storage System Commissioning
On October 19, Cleantech San Diego member and Southern California Energy Innovation Network company Smartville in collaboration with UC San Diego will commission and demonstrate its first commercial energy storage system using repurposed battery packs. The research and demonstration project is supported by the California Energy Commission and the Department of Energy ARPA-E Program. RSVP
