Cleantech San Diego Leads DOE EnergyTech University Prize Southern California Event
On February 23, Cleantech San Diego and the Southern California Energy Innovation Network led the Southern California EnergyTech UP EXPLORE Event, where Low Temperature Hydrothermal Synthesis from UC San Diego became the regional winner of $3,000 for their business plan. The team now moves on to the next phase of competition, where they will refine their market analysis and business opportunity before competing in the DOE National Pitch Event on April 3. Sponsored by the Office of Technology Transitions at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and in partnership with the American-Made Challenges, EnergyTech UP is a competition challenging college student teams to compete for cash prizes. San Diego Community Power Holds Power100 Champions Circle Dinner with Mayor Gloria
On February 15, Cleantech San Diego joined San Diego Community Power to host an exclusive dinner with San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria and fellow local businesses leaders who have opted up to 100% renewable energy as Power100 Champions. The dinner and roundtable discussion offered a forum for San Diego Community Power to thank customers for their 100% renewable energy commitments and provided an opportunity for business leaders to engage with Mayor Gloria and each other. Cleantech San Diego Community Choice Energy Working Group Update
Now in its third year, Cleantech San Diego's Community Choice Energy Working Group is a committee focused on following the community choice energy (CCE) procurement process, increasing collaboration between CCEs and Cleantech San Diego members, and providing industry insight into CCE program design. The Energy Working Group met on January 24 to set its priorities for the year and to hear a presentation from San Diego Community Power about opportunities with its Power100 customers. Aptera and the Race to Solar Mobility
As Cleantech San Diego member Aptera Motors races toward production, they are offering the opportunity for a community of trailblazers to accelerate the path toward production and earn priority delivery of their Aptera vehicles. SDG&E Announces $16 Million in Relief
SDG&E has announced it is providing $16 million in shareholder funding to help customers with bill assistance and bolster community resources for residents who may be struggling financially. GKN Hydrogen to Host Open House
On March 24 from 12:00 - 2:00 pm, Cleantech San Diego member GKN Hydrogen will host an open house to welcome the cleantech community to their new offices at 3246 Grey Hawk Ct. in Carlsbad. Food and beverages will be provided and an HY2Mini turn-key, decentralized hydrogen energy system will be on display for guests to get a chance to look at a fully-integrated hydrogen energy system up close.
