Now that Strictly Come Dancing is returning to our TV’s, you won’t want to miss London’s exclusive Behind the Seams Tour.
Explore the studio where the stunning creations for Strictly Come Dancing and the competitive world of Ballroom and Latin are put together, from first design to final rhinestone.
Your guides will be the directors, or other key people within the company who will show you dresses that have starred in Strictly Come Dancing and share a few sparkling stories of what went on “behind the seams”.
Learn more about the dresses and costumes as seen on "Strictly Come Dancing", the real stars of the show – and learn how long they have to make the dresses, explaining the process from initial design from award winning costume designer Vicky Gill to final rhinestone and the specifics of any performance dress. Also learn how they came to make all the Strictly costumes, why they love and fear it - as they share some of the hidden secrets "Behind the Seams".
Starting with a champagne reception, your exclusive tour will follow, where you can ask your guide anything you’d like to know about the stunning dresses you see – and maybe even take a spin in one or two of the fab-u-lous frocks yourself ! To begin with you will stay in the showroom for the introduction and the main talk.
You will then go for a walk throughout the whole premises, exploring the actual production rooms of the famous "Strictly" dresses, including the "magic" crystallising section, then visit the stockroom which features a kaleidoscope of sparking fabrics in incredible bright colours. Throughout the tour your guide will also answer any questions you may have on any raised topic.
At the end there may be the chance to try one of the original dresses and give it a whirl and spin. The tour lasts approximately 2 hours.
After the tour, we shall make our way to Royal Greenwich where there will be time at leisure for a late lunch to be purchased.
The tour is not suitable for children under 8 years and people with walking difficulties as there are multiple sets of staircases within the building which may prove difficult for those with limited mobility.
