Historic Bath & Royal Windsor Weekend including optional Bridgerton Sights and Music Tour in Bath
Saturday 9th – Sunday 10th October 2021 From £139 Per person (£50 deposit per person due now – balance due August 2021)
Join us on this weekend break to the delightful City of Bath – which is the only city in the UK to be named a World Heritage Site. For fans of Bridgerton, there is the opportunity to book onto a Bridgerton Sights and Music Tour – where you will visit some of the filming locations, hear behind-the-scenes gossip, and experience music included in the show (must be pre-booked). If you prefer to explore at your own pace, Bath has much to offer.
Your overnight accommodation, which includes a three course evening meal and breakfast, will be at the 4* Alexandra House in the village of Wroughton, near Swindon.
After a morning departure from the Essex area, we shall make our way Westwards to the delightful Georgian City of Bath.
Bath’s compact, visitor-friendly centre is overflowing with places to eat and drink, some of the finest independent shops in Britain and a remarkable collection of museums and galleries.
Bath's stunning honey-coloured Georgian architecture is straight from a Jane Austen novel. The World Heritage site, with its Palladian architecture carved from golden Bath stone, remains virtually unchanged since Austen’s day, with Bath Abbey and the Royal Crescent two shining examples.
Marvel at the stunning Bath Abbey, the last of the great medieval churches of England, with unrivalled views of the city, or be intrigued by the Circus, a masterpiece by John Wood, forming the shape of a key when viewed from the air.
Optional Bridgerton Tour - £15 a head
Have fun discovering Bath by stepping inside this year's biggest TV sensation on our Bridgerton Tour with music. Equipped with our over ear headphones, your local guide - a Bridgerton fan - will share with you the filming locations, behind-the-scenes gossip, and music included in the show.
Promenade through the idyllic streets of Bath and see for yourself the places where all of your favourite scandals unfolded; including the Featherington family house, the Modiste Dress Shop, and Lady Danbury's mansion. All of these scenes were filmed in some of Bath's most picturesque crescents, theatres, and squares - you may even find yourself spinning round the exquisite ballrooms of Bath Assembly Rooms. Locations include the Guildhall, Bath Assembly Rooms, Royal Crescent, Bath Street, Abbey Green, the Holburne, and more.
Your tour will cover much of Bath city centre and will run in all weathers, so please wear appropriate footwear and clothing. The tour is approximately 2 hours in duration and must be booked & paid in full at the time of paying your deposit for the trip.
Late afternoon, we shall depart Bath and make our way to our 4* hotel. After checking in, relax and with a drink in the bar and enjoy a three course evening meal .
After a leisurely breakfast, we shall head back towards the Essex area, stopping en route at Royal Windsor.
Crowned by stunning Windsor Castle – and linked by the beautiful River Thames, Royal Windsor has a rich mix of history, culture, heritage and fun. The town is dominated by Windsor Castle which is over 900 years old and the largest inhabited castle in the world (entrance fees apply).
Aside from the Castle, there’s much more to see and do, including exploring the pretty town centre full of traditional shops and pubs, taking a boat ride along the Thames or enjoying a walk along the pretty riverside.
We shall make our way back to the Essex area late afternoon.
