Wells is one of the most attractive towns on the North Norfolk Coast. From the long sweeping beach bordered by pine woodland, along the gentle harbour with small fishing boats and children fishing for crabs, past the independent shops on Staithe Street, to the tree-lined park with its fine Georgian houses, quiet pubs and restaurants - Wells is an unspoiled seaside destination, waiting to be discovered.
Its flat sandy beach is edged with a plethora of colourful beach huts and as you head further inland, gorgeous Georgian houses grace the town with a sophisticated elegance reminiscent of a bygone age.
Between the quay and the beach there’s a scenic walk with stunning views of the harbour and salt marshes, and a 10¼” gauge miniature train – perfect for carrying tired legs back to town ! (charges apply)
Running just under a mile between the town and the beach, the Wells Harbour Railway departs every 20 minutes throughout the summer months.
