Sunday 23rd - Monday 24th January 2022
£149 Per person (£50 deposit per person due now – balance due November 2021)
Join us on this 2 day Winter escape– including visits to Oxford and the Cotswolds – and staying overnight at the Three Ways House Hotel - Home of the world-famous Pudding Club. The hotel is located in the charming Cotswold village of Mickleton, near Chipping Campden.
THE PUDDING CLUB
The Pudding Clubs heartfelt mission since it started in 1985 has been to preserve the Great British Pudding and we think we’ve succeeded in this mission!
Enjoy a whole evening’s entertainment starting with a glass of Bucks Fizz and a jovial introduction by The Pudding Master followed by a light main course and then the Parade of FOUR Traditional Puddings. With all its noise and ceremony, the aim is to taste them all and then to vote for your favourite pudding of the night over coffee. Guests depart certificates in hand !
After a morning departure from the Essex area, we shall make our way to the stunning University City of Oxford - a City steeped in history and culture. Often called the ‘City of Dreaming Spires’, Oxford has over 1000 years of history. It has been the inspiration for Morris Cars, Oxford Marmalade, Oxford Bags and the oldest university in Britain – a university which has educated some of the world’s greatest leaders, scientists, philosophers, writers and actors – Indira Ghandi, Margaret Thatcher, Bill Clinton, Benazir Bhutto, Lewis Carroll, J.R.R. Tolkien, John Wesley and Richard Burton, to name just a few.
Late afternoon, we shall depart Oxford and make our way to our hotel in the Cotswold village of Mickleton. After checking in, relax and with a drink in the bar and enjoy your evening meal – followed by FOUR puddings !
After a leisurely breakfast, we shall head into the Cotswolds. The Cotswolds is one of the most 'quintessentially English' and unspoiled regions of England. With its rustic rural charm, rolling hills, vibrant market towns and picture-perfect villages, the Cotswolds offers nearly 800 square miles of unspoilt countryside.
It is packed with picturesque villages built of Cotswold stone, beautiful churches and vast manor houses. From the honey-coloured cottages of Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow- on- the-Wold, Bibury and Burford, the area was once renowned for its wool production, reminders of which you can still see today. Stops will be made at one of the villages for free time and to purchase lunch.
We shall make our way back to the Essex area late afternoon.
Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
