Dear Friends:
Although our Fall II session is just six weeks long, many activities were held for our community. We celebrated Black History Month with a variety of engaging events, featuring a “Black Excellence Is…” photo campaign and a trip to Washington, to visit the National Museum of African American history. At our All Campus Faculty-Staff meeting in early January, we held a forum to address issues of equity, diversity, and inclusion at the College. These meaningful discussions will serve as a framework for continuing to ensure the campus reflects and celebrates the wonderful diversity of our city.
Since our curriculum is experientially based, we continue to seek ways for students to gain practical experience. Our CIO initiated a program for six IT students to research, develop, and deploy a reservation system for three small conference campuses. Their hard work will now enable these spaces to be more accessible. We ended Fall II last Friday by welcoming 75 new Guttman students who successfully completed the Winter Bridge program (see photo above) and have now matriculated for the spring semester. We look forward to following their successes during the coming months.
