Thanks for Your Support
Thank you for supporting this year’s Pledge Drive! We had 156 families and 31 Turtleback teachers and staff help us exceed our $10,000 fundraising goal for the first time ever. To date we have received $13,462. If you didn't donate and would still like to, you can make your contribution online. As a reminder, the money raised will fund art, music, science, and technology.

Music to Our Ears
The students of Turtleback have been making beautiful music thanks to parent volunteer Genni Myles and the Foundation. Here are the “high notes” of what they're learning:
- Kindergarten – Tempo, marching to beats, and holiday music for their December performance
- 1st Grade – Songs for their June show, Wonders of the Earth
- 3rd Grade – Songs for their May show, Best of Broadway
- 4th Grade – How to read notes and play the recorder (see below)
- 5th Grade - Improvisational theater
In addition, later this month 2nd Grade students will start practicing Songs from Around the World.

Artists in the Making
The ART CORPS parent volunteers have completed their first workshop and most have already delivered the first student lesson focused on line. Many of these parent volunteers have never taught art before, and were more than a little nervous. But, they did a great job. How can you tell? The students were completely focused, engaged, and creative, and they produced amazing artwork. See for yourself!

Harvest Festival: A Scary Good Time
The Harvest Festival is next Friday! And if you haven’t ordered your wristbands yet, there are still a few days left. The Ultimate Terrapin wristband provides the best value and can only be purchased during our pre-sale, which ends October 21. It includes unlimited access to all activities, including games, rides, Mad Science booths, and crafts.
In addition to fun for the kids, we’ll also have the Silent Auction with classroom baskets and great deals to bid on, like museum passes, an Outpost camp certificate, lunch with your child's teacher, and more! This year, we're putting the Auction online so that you can monitor your bids in real time. Take a look and make sure you have a QR reader on your phone. Items will continue to be added to this site so keep checking back.

Bucketfillers: Salute Our Seniors
Our first Bucketfillers community service program is:
- November 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the MPR
- November 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Villa nursing home
Participation in both sessions is required. On November 3, students will learn about aging and its effects. They’ll then create a gift to bring to the Villa nursing home the following week. On November 9, the kids will play bingo with the seniors, who will also enjoy a performance from our ESS Musical Theater Team.
To participate, you must register online (the ESS Musical Theater Team does not need to complete the online registration). Space is limited to the first 40 registrants.

Lights, Camera, Action!
The Variety Show is coming back to Turtleback. This Spring, student participants will showcase their talents (singing, dancing, magic, comedy, musical instruments, gymnastics, karate, etc.) on stage. Auditions will be held in January and interested kids should prepare a 1-1 1/2 minute routine.
Parent volunteers are needed to make this event a success. If you can assist on Tuesdays from 2:30-3:20 p.m. (beginning in January through March), please email Genni Myles at gsmyles@hotmail.com.
