Hoople Recruitment updates

Helping you to reduce your recruitment costs

Following feedback received in our recent customer survey, we understand that schools are facing challenging times in terms of their budgets. With this in mind, we are pleased to announce that with immediate effect we have reduced the price of our recruitment administration service as follows:

Role Was Now
Support staff £400 £350
Teaching staff £475 £400
Deputy/Headteacher £699 £450

The service includes:

  • Advertising on multiple job boards
  • Accessing our extensive candidate database
  • Candidate management
  • Carrying out all pre-employment checks

Utilising this service would reduce in-house costs associated with staff time and prevent the need to advertise in local papers, thus saving approx 50% of current advertising spend.

Supply Teachers

We will also be working  with you to negotiate supply teacher rates in line with schools' budgets. We will shortly be contacting and visiting you to discuss your resourcing needs and how  together we can work towards achieving your financial savings.

On-line timesheets – coming soon!

We are in the process of implementing an on-line timesheet system for our agency supply teachers and support staff.  The on-line submission and approval process for paying supply staff will lead to greater efficiencies, saving you time and administration.

We will be contacting all of our customers with further details in the near future, with an anticipated launch in April.

Training update

NEW Hoople Safer Recruitment Workshop

As you will know, it is important that schools and academies incorporate into their recruitment and selection procedures measures that help deter, reject or identify people who are unsuited to work with children.

With this in mind, Hoople is pleased to offer its new Safer Recruitment Workshop.

Forthcoming workshop dates
  • Friday 12 February
  • Wednesday 9 March
  • Monday 18 April
  • Thursday 16 June
The workshop meets the statutory requirements of Keeping Children Safe in Education (DfE 2014) and course content has been developed by a consortium appointed by the Department for Education including the NSPCC and The Lucy Faithfull Foundation.

Keeping Children Safe in Education affirms the statutory responsibility for all schools to have at least one member of staff Safer Recruitment trained. Undertaking this training with Hoople ensures this requirement is met with the most up-to-date nationally accredited content.

All sessions will take place at Hoople's offices in Plough Lane, Hereford and run from 9:30am – 4:30pm. The cost per delegate is £105 + VAT.

For full course details or to book your place(s), please visit CPD on-line. Alternatively, please call Hoople Training on 01432 383500.

FREE Train the Trainer Workshop to Raise Awareness of Prevent (WRAP)

This course is aimed at safeguarding/Prevent leads as well as any front line managers, particularly those who work with children and vulnerable adults.  Following this training you will have a better understanding of the Prevent Duty and of how people are manipulated by extremist ideologies.  You will also be able to deliver Home Office accredited WRAP training within your organisation.

To register for this course that lasts for two hours and is taking place on 8, 10 and 11 February, please follow the link to CPD Online

Free school meals update

A gentle reminder that census day will be Thursday 21 January. In order to ensure your census submissions are correct, you should now start to check your free school meal lists against our online records.

If you have any discrepancies, please email them to us, quoting the EB reference, by midday on Monday 18 January. This will ensure both records are as accurate as possible and any changes are made on time.
